Fates

By: Taylor Rai

Fates

Their words whisper to me late in the night

Somewhere I see my star, winds howling cold,

Free me from darkness for I have no sight,

Leave a blanket on the bed nice and fold.

Sing me the song of spring and of warm May

Save me from this long, quiet tunnel so dark.

Wanting to speak but still unable to say,

My love for the dark sky and the night lark.

The last hope of my life begins to fade,

Let my love lost in the darkness be free.

Here I lay alone under the tree with shade,

Why can no one help me? Please, don’t you see?

That the Fates have finally come to take me.
