Clock Wise

By: Sundevil321

The clock keeps ticking, keeping track of days

A candle is like time, the tick a wick

The time is cruel to make us fade, not stay

A teacher told a class they have two days

They’d have to write their essays rather quick

The clock keeps ticking, keeping track of days

One time I heard the question, “Will you stay?”

I’d love to, but no time, it made me sick

The time is cruel to make us fade, not stay

For tools and parts the sailor went to pay

An hour past, the sailor gave a kick

The clock keeps ticking, keep track of day

I want to laugh and run and dance and play

I have to think, and work, and live too quick

The time is cruel to make us fade, not stay

I sit, and have to make my poem click

I could be outside, living with sunray

The clock keeps ticking keeping track of day

The time is cruel to make us fade, not stay
