Crescendo

By: Aristeia

As the music rises, and falls,

My chest continues the rhythm,

My heart the conductor,

Quickening the pace for moments only to then,

Fall upon the deaf ear of my lungs,

As they give way to the slow, and churning rhythm,

Only wishing for a rest,

One of eternity,

One that embraces that of a lifetime,

One that holds the vast realm of this,

Cloud and vapor that expands and rises,

Signaling to the conductor that the time is near,

The crescendo will fall, and the crowd will cheer,

The moment of all combinations of possibility,

Has come,

And the score will end.
