Spreading Myself Too Thin

By: Marble

I can’t be what you want me to be

Although I’m putting forth my best face

Yet I am sorry for the deceit.

It was necessary, you see.

I had to find a way to remain me.

The act is challenging

But you are making it easy on me

By only seeing what you want to see.

Someday soon I’ll tell the truth

And then the screeching halt will come.

But until that day arrives

you are my favorite distraction.
