New Year's Day

By: PoetPatriot

New Year's Day

A new beginning once each year,

high-spirited resolutions.

Intended purpose or fermented spirit,

perseverance once each year.

Another calendar to plan again

let priority of family be your gain.

Record the plans that you dream,

lest fleeting time to pass them by.

It takes on the hour of each 24 hours,

on one day to begin each year.

Celebrations ‘round the clock,

for purposeful existence to renew.

Midnight comes, hands straight up,

the end of one small era.

Let the next be your best,

in the coming of this year next.

Each 24 hours hands straight up,

around the world begins each year.

Cheers of shouts and so much noise,

as the hands of time roll by.
