Captain Penny (Sonnet)

By: Fox

The waves were crashing against the sail boat,

Thunder riding on the raging ocean,

The crew wishing not for angry cutthroats,

Terrified at the least bit of notion.

The could be hiding, standing in the waves,

Armed with bloody daggers, and crimson spears,

To send them to their dark, watery graves,

A death for soldiers, consumed by their fears.

Boarding the ship, through the lightning they came,

Flashing blades, foretelling the dismal night,

Rain fell as blood, like the warriors’ slain,

The pirates took off soon after in fright.

For they made a fearsome foe for any,

without a doubt, except, Captain Penny.
