The Stars

By: Stranger1984

The stars,

Beautiful white diamonds,

Against the dark curtain of night.

Bright eyes that can stare into one's very soul.

The stars once calmed my burning heart,

As I would ponder,

How they,

Being so simple,

Could have so much complexity.

I don't see the stars much now,

They remind me too much of what I will miss.

They remind me of the eyes of my only friend,

My one and only care,

And the only one who truly cares for me.

When I leave,

Only she will be remembered,

I only hope that she will remember me.

I don't want to leave my friend,

But I don't want to stay in my presonal hell.

I don't know why she cares for me,

But when I am gone,

These stars will remind me of why I care for her.
