Melting Hours

By: DrippingTime

i remember the time

when you lost a shoe

in the quick of the mud

by the creek

we escaped through

we felt fate

right behind us

its breath

hot on our skin

i wanted to drown but

you said you could swim

we held hands

and we ran

through the trees

and high grass

we watched

the slow drip of time,

puddle what's yet

into what has

the frightened beasts

in the distance

kept us

weary of the storm

that's followed close

behind us

since our

forbidden love

was born

the clouds seemed to

bleed across the sky,

swept strong in

the heavy winds

nearing thunder

hid our passion cries

but the lightning

exposed our sin

it(time) acted like a hunter

and so our love was prey

we crept through forest by moonlight

we slept hidden from the day

now i grieve in silence

i watch the stars above

where ive placed my heart

til im reuninted

with my love
