AM mend

By: jade

waiting for you

you’re lying in your white linen bed, soft as a cloud

I wonder if you will speak to me

while I stand in the darkness, in the shadows

waiting for you.

the air is stale

the hum of electricity

the spark needed to bring you back

and your name

I know you can hear; yet you do not answer

I slam both fists into your chest

“You always were a selfish basterd!” __|__

and still I wait.

for a second I close my eyes

and when I open them I see you standing

you come over and give me a hug

when I try to speak you put your index finger to my mouth

“Shhh… thank you for mending my wings”

as you raise yourself up and disappear out of sight

and still I wait.
