Two Worlds

By: Teddy

The tropical sun sinks low on the horizon,

Sighing softly as it touches the sea.

A warm fragrant breeze caresses my shoulder,

Telling of flowers it has passed along the way.

The rustling palm leaves above my head

Whisper a quiet melody of peace to fill my soul.

Far away in a land familiar and yet foreign

The same sun kisses a majestic mountain top.

A soft breeze blows past uncaring people,

Telling of fragrant pines and sparking streams.

The quiet melody of peace is sung unheard,

Lost in the cacophony of Modern Life.

There are those who believe in the distant land,

Who thrive in its fast pace and rigid structure.

The hot wind blowing through the Corporate World

Fans ambitious souls into flame,

Inspiring great works of creating

A Beauty far removed from Nature's Portrait.

There are also those who believe in a different world,

One where the breezes are cool and the pace relaxed.

The song of the Business World is but a confusing babble,

Drowning out the symphony of a sunlit world.

The abstract portrait of production seems trivial,

While Nature's murals inspire our hearts.

We spend our lives dancing to an alien tune,

Forever listening to an echo of the peaceful wind.

We search for a way to create our own brand of Beauty,

A Portrait waiting to be painted and displayed.

The swaying of the distant palms and the

Sighing of a setting sun live within us still.
