Rooftops

By: daxx_61

Gazing out acroos the rooftops,

Across a sky beneath the clouds,

Cars racing down paths of concrete,

Down pavements swarm the surging crowds

Of people going about their business

Liveing lives below darkness' shrouds

This panoramic view before me

The myst'rys of life's secret's holds,

The riches, precious gems and silver,

Jewels, works of art and gold.

For this beaut'ful world we live on

Is for dreams and prom'ses sold.

The people feed live parasites

On Gaia's bounty, rich and great.

Life's hunger, greed and selfishness

not all the universe can sate -

And so consigned this planet is

A lifeless husk to be it's fate.
