The ribbon in my hair

By: crimson.bead

The ribbon in my hair, I saved for you

To tie around our wedding cake

Food of love, you made me hungry

For something I had never known

The ribbon in my hair, I saved for you

To join our hearts 'til death do us part

I didn't want to let you go

You could give me something I had never known

The ribbon in my hair, I saved for you

To stem the flow from your bleeding heart

Through your pain you might still be able to give me

Something I had never known

The ribbon in my hair, I saved for you

To stop you from wandering away

I started to find out things about you

Some things I had never known

The ribbon in my hair, I saved for you

To tie a noose around our necks

You wanted to die and take me with you

Something I had never known

I no longer wear a ribbon in my hair

Now I am plain and simple

I can do without the ribbon

I can live as one and the only one

That's something I had never known.
