Yesterday's News

By: jade

Every day delivered to my door

product of intense human labour

world events, summed nicely

from a view on high,

I feel their eyes looking down, feel their bias

It creeps through every word

like a virus captured in print.

I skip to the crossword

fill in a few blanks

then toss the whole thing away.

There it sits,

black running into white,

water drips from wrinkled pages

shivering in the wind

yesterday so important.
