Free Press

We all have a bias and it sometimes is not easy to be objective. Historically it has been the responsibility of the press to keep their bias confined to their editorials. Today we often find bias throughout the pages of many newspapers. I have proven that the papers do have the capacity to be objective simply by the number of my ‘letters to the editor’ that have been published. They have been given plenty of opportunity to allow a bias to show by rejecting them. I appreciate when my ‘Letters’ are published and I thoroughly understand when they are not. Not all ‘Letters to the Editors’ can be published often simply due to the shear numbers received.

I have been made aware of a situation a couple months ago. A co-worker over heard a couple of people discussing how to silence a couple of letters writers. He chocked with suppressed laughter when he heard my name mentioned. Rather than join the debate by writing their own ‘Letters’ the liberal individuals sought to suppress the opposition. Rather than talk facts they sought to suppress the message.

As I said - that - was a couple of months ago. That newspaper did not succumb to the influences of those who sought to suppress. The ‘Free Press’ is and should be a ‘responsible press.’
