Beyond Yourself

There is no king who has not a slave among his ancestors, and no slave who has not had a king among his. - Helen Keller

No one is greater than the next. We all have a black sheep that we are not proud of. There is often a golden sheep, a person of fame that we tend to be proud. People make of themselves fame or shame. It is not who came before but your character of today is who you are.

Do nothing as you feel you are not worthy and you accomplish naught. Refusing to attempt is to have failed before the start. Rise up to who you are now and meet the potential within. Rise above who you think you are and you become a new person. Greatness often lies in the most unsuspecting people.

There is also the adage, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained”. Keeping within one’s comfort zone gains little. The Olympic medallists would not have reached their success had they given up and taken the easier regimen. Extend yourself, push the limits of your frontier and find that vein of gold in the caverns of your soul.

We all can succeed or fail and we all come short of God’s glory. To have ventured and failed is far better than slavery to fear and self-consciousness.
