bound and gagged

By: justice

I remember seeing you tied to a chair

Bloody nose

Bound hands

A gag in your mouth

Because you couldn't be accepted for what you were

They said your skin was too pale

Your features too sharp

Tattooed and Pierced

And they thought that you couldn't be human

I was standing in the shadows the whole time

Watching you, watching them

And I wanted to simply say that I loved you

Despite their words

But the words couldn't come

I'm tearing myself up about it now

Wishing I had said something, prevented everything

Wishing I had told them that you were human

More human than everybody else

But my reluctance has made me

What they called you

In your eyes
